Schools, Colleges & Universities

Each year, we’re delighted to partner with schools, colleges and universities as a key charity. Thank you to all the young people who have supported our work in recent years. Whether you want to recognise the part Spread a Smile has played in the life of one of your students, support a children’s charity whose work makes a real difference, or generate meaningful opportunities in your setting, we would love for you to consider us.

The nature of our work makes us a great match for your student fundraising activities. It is wonderful when young people come together to brighten the lives of those children who are unable to enjoy a normal childhood due to their illness and ongoing hospital treatment. Raising awareness of our work with your networks is as important as raising funds and we very much value the support of schools, colleges and universities in helping us to achieve our goals. Barts University RAG – Charity of the Year

In September 2021, BLSA RAG (Barts London Student Association Raise and Give) announced Spread a Smile as one of their charity partners for the academic year 2021/22.  We are thrilled to be selected, and look forward to working with the students at Barts London over the coming months.

Why did BL RAG choose Spread a Smile as one of their charities this year?
‘As medical and dental students we often see the impact that a hospital environment can have on children. Seriously ill children and their families already have so much to deal with, we can only imagine how an element of play and entertainment could make all the difference to their day and make things just that little bit more bearable. The projects run by Spread a Smile provide this for the children and is something we cannot wait to support!’   –   Annie Mae Wright, BLSA RAG Officer

If you are a university RAG society, and interested in working with us, please contact Rosie at We would love to hear from you!

“We wanted to let you know that our Fun Day in memory of Matthew raised just over £2600!!!  We are delighted with this result.  It was a fantastic day and the children absolutely loved it.  Please could you thank everyone from the Spread a Smile team who was involved.  We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the support you gave us in the run up to this event and on the day.”
