We know that everyone in a family is deeply affected by the illness of a child or sibling. At Spread a Smile we organise a range of outings, events and activities to suit different interests and age groups. Our events support young patients, their parents, carers and siblings, providing moments of respite, joyful experiences and enduring memories at the most challenging of times.
- Annual events such as our Summer and Winter Parties are attended by more than 600 children and their families.
- Theatre trips to see West End shows such as The Lion King, Matilda the Musical and Frozen, including pre-theatre parties, complete with entertainment, refreshments and, where possible, post-performance cast meet and greets.
- Smile Parties (virtual only) to help young patients enjoy their birthday with friends, peers and family.
- Calendar events around key dates such as Christmas, Chanakah, Eid, Easter, Diwali, World Book Day and Valentine’s Day.
- School holiday virtual sessions and activities.
- Special events such as end of treatment parties, parent pamper days and more.
- After school art clubs (virtual only) with age appropriate activities every week.
- Treat drops of books, toys, cakes and more to children at our NHS hospital partners, plus seasonal activities such as our Christmas Smile Hampers.
