Spread a Smile works together with trusts and foundation partners to deliver impactful services which benefit seriously ill children, young people and their families up and down the country. As a charity which receives no statutory funding, all grants from small one-off donations to long-term major partnerships, are crucial to sustaining and growing our service provision.
We would be delighted to invite trustees and representatives from trusts or foundations to meet with us and hear directly from our Services team about our ambitious plans for the future and how your organisation can help us achieve them. Get in touch by email at fundraising@spreadasmile.org or on 020 7482 5191 for next steps. Also take a look below for more on our work and the importance we place on impact and reporting.
Grants from Trusts & Foundations
We offer a range of impactful and innovative areas for funding, each of which are hugely impactful for the families we support.
- Entertainer visits – funding face-to-face and virtual hospital visits to children under the care of our NHS hospital and hospice partners;
- Family outings and events – funding our calendar of bespoke family events, including theatre trips and afternoon teas, which provide the families we support with much needed opportunities for respite, fun and togetherness;
- Art initiatives – funding our work creating colourful murals on hospital wards and windows which brighten spaces and help make the hospital environment a more welcoming place for young patients and their families. Also, our hand-painted, bespoke radiotherapy masks and moulds which support those undergoing radiotherapy treatment.
- Unrestricted funding grants – this invaluable source of funding allows us to develop our strategy and remain flexible to the changing needs of the children we support.
Impact and Reporting
We are committed to working closely with you to ensure you can clearly see the impact you are making.
- We report openly and honestly about the funding we receive and tailor our reports to the interests and objectives of each partner.
- We set clear outcomes which we aim to achieve, and regularly review the impact of our services. We evaluate our work through independent studies, and conduct annual surveys of parents and carers.
- We encourage, and actively seek feedback at every level and from all stakeholders and share learnings with our hospital partners so we can further develop our services whilst remaining beneficiary focused and beneficiary led.
