Services for families

Spread a Smile offers a range of activities and entertainment to support not just your seriously ill child, but their siblings and wider family members too. Our services are accessible whilst your child is in hospital or recovering at home, and include in-person visits to our NHS hospital partners, virtual sessions and family outings. Everything we do is about providing vital opportunities for play, interaction, engagement and fun.

Information for Healthcare Professionals

As a charity, we work in partnership with 39 NHS hospitals and 6 hospices, supporting play and healthcare teams and providing moments of distraction and joy to seriously ill babies, children and young people. Our partnerships are developed individually based on the need, with our services including in-hospital visits, art initiatives and seasonal and bespoke support.

All of Spread a Smile’s services and free of charge and available to all children up to the age of 18 under the care of our NHS hospital partners. In some circumstances, we may be able to offer support to young people over the age of 18 on a case-by-case basis, depending on individual needs.
