Shaun Simons
Chair, Founder

Shaun is a Co-founder of Compton, the leading office and investment agency in the City Fringe boasting a market share of approximately 50%.

He previously founded Hatton Real Estate and sold to Colliers in 2016. Shaun was a Director of Colliers International and was head of the City Fringe Department.

The City Fringe District has been an area of specialism for over 20 years. Shaun has transacted hundreds of investment deals and thousands of leasing deals throughout the economic cycles.

In 2022, Compton have brokered in excess of 1,000,000 sq ft in the district. He is an advisor to the GLA and the UK Government regarding policy for the district.

Richard Fine
Managing Director
at Brotherton

Richard set up Brotherton Real Estate in June 2014 with Daniel Uzan. Richard qualified as a finance lawyer with Lovells in London before moving

into the real estate securitisation team at Barclays Capital as an investment banker. At Barcap, he was responsible for originating, structuring and securitising large loans secured on real estate assets. Following Barcap he joined Europa Capital, where he was responsible for obtaining, structuring and negotiating finance for assets the fund was acquiring across Europe, as well as the provision of mezzanine finance to third party clients. Prior to setting up Brotherton, he was a managing director at CR Investment Management, where he was responsible for the growth of the business internationally and working with hedge fund and private equity capital on the acquisition of real estate assets and non-performing loan portfolios across Europe.

Daniel Uzan
Managing Director

Daniel set up Brotherton Real Estate in June 2014 with Richard Fine. Daniel started his career at ING Bank where he was an originator in the Loan

Syndications Division focusing on Central Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He subsequently joined a boutique real estate structured finance business, which focused on arranging senior debt and mezzanine finance for investors and developers in the UK and Europe. Most recently, prior to setting up Brotherton, Daniel was Head of Real Estate Finance at London & Capital, a private wealth management business where he was responsible for managing and restructuring a European loan book of in excess of £750m. Daniel has a wide range of experience advising on refinancing maturing and distressed debt facilities, recapitalisations and acquisition finance raising.

James Lass

James has 25 years’ experience investing in all sectors of commercial real estate. He has been responsible for significant regeneration projects and has an interest in the rejuvenation

of redundant buildings through redevelopment. His current focus in on creating real estate businesses in operationally intensive sectors such as self-storage. His interests outside work include most sports, music and current affairs. He acted as a mentor the ELBA Mentoring Works programme, an initiative focussed on promoting social mobility via the mentoring of Year 11 pupils from one of the most deprived borough in London.

Michael Mirelman
