Proud to support Race Equality Week

Race Equality Matters is a UK-wide initiative working to achieve race equality in workplaces. Each year, it hosts Race Equality Week (this year starting on Monday 3 February), which brings people together to raise awareness and tackle barriers to race equality.

Unfortunately, as shown from thousands of individuals taking part in polls, progress has been slow, and a key challenge is improving understanding of race-related issues. Race inequality can only be addressed and eradicated if everyone takes action.

As part of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work, our team will be taking part in the 5-Day Race Equality Challenge, an impactful way to learn about race inequality, covering various different themes.

‘’Every small step we take is like sowing the seeds for change — whether big or small, each action matters.’’

If you or your organisation would like to find out more about getting involved, you can find out more here.

Feeling the speed at F1 Arcade

The Spread a Smile family events team has been busy over the past couple of months organising some brilliant, varied and exciting events for the families we support.

Earlier this month we took 13 of the seriously ill children and young people we support along with their siblings and families for an exhilarating afternoon at F1 Arcade in London.

It was brilliant to see everyone trying out the Formula 1 simulators, racing against each other and enjoying the buzz and excitement of the experience.

As always, the Spread a Smile entertainers were also on hand with magic, face painting and singing and our guests were treated to some delicious pizza and ice creams generously donated by Simply Ice Cream.

If you would like to find out more about registering for our family events, please click here.

All of our family events are free of charge for our families to attend, so if you are able to make a donation to help us continue to provide these brilliant experiences, we’d be so grateful, thank you.
