Smile Heroes’ Royal Parks success

Thank you to our 30 #SmileHeroes who took on the Royal Parks Half Marathon challenge on Sunday 10 October and each successfully completed the 13.1 mile course around Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
Their combined efforts raised in excess of £30,000 which will enable us to provide more play activities and entertainment to critically ill children at this time.
One team member, Jez Allinson (aka the Running Stormtrooper) commented, “Thanks for such a great day. I’ve got to tell you, I’ve run for many charities and none of them come close to how Spread a Smile makes their supporters feel. The charity doesn’t need flashy tents when they do the lovely gestures that they do. From personalised chocolate, a Christmas card whilst I was in Afghanistan. Spread a Smile is my favourite charity to raise money for. No other charity comes close.”  In 2020 Jez, an RAF pilot, ran 1,000 miles dressed as a Stormtropper in aid of Spread a Smile.  After Sunday’s race Jez will be retiring the costume.
