FAMILY EVENTS

Once described as “the most fun per square metre in London” our annual event is enjoyed by more than 300 seriously and terminally ill children and their families every November.  Indeed, the excitement begins to build from receipt of their invitations to the day itself when every moment is filled with activities that excite and delight.

Past activities have included virtual reality pods, t-shirt making, arts and crafts, karaoke, a sweet shop, nail painting, face painting, appearances from favourite TV characters like Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol, magic shows and a display of super cars.  We are also incredibly grateful at this time to so many of our corporate partners who throw themselves into party mode and support the event with special activities such as Lola’s Cupcakes cupcake decorating, Metcalfe’s create your own popcorn flavours, Build a Bear’s bear-making, Pan n Ice’s ice cream rolls, Marine Ices ice cream station and even Larry King’s blow dry bar for older siblings, parents and carers.  Special thanks to the Marriott Hotel Regents Park who, for the last three years, has hosted our Winter Party and supported the event with wonderful food and staff support.

We are very aware that extended stays in hospital can have a detrimental impact on the lives of older children and teenagers as they become more aware of the pursuits and fun they are missing out on.  For this reason we organise a number of opportunities for older children and teenagers to enjoy time together in a safe space, away from the hospital environment.  And of course, teenage siblings are welcome to join in the fun.  This includes:

• Bowling Events – complete with exclusive use of bowling lanes, music and food & refreshments
• Pamper Sessions – with stylists, make up artists, music and food & refreshment
