All of our services are free of charge and available to children and young people with serious or chronic illnesses under the care of our NHS hospital partners, as well as their siblings.   • virtual Smile Parties to celebrate birthdays
  • virtual and in person activity days during school holidays
  • virtual After School Art Club

  • treat drops to hospitals
  • the personalisation of radiotherapy masks

Spread a Smile ‘does exactly what it says on the tin’. Their simple approach of showing that there is still joy, love and laughter to be experienced, even in the teeth of very real stress, is nothing short of genius. It is incredibly hard as a parent of a very sick child to be ‘fun’ for them or their siblings. Today has taken that pressure off this particular parent and for that I will be eternally grateful.

Millie has loved seeing a fairy both when she was on PICU (intensive care) and on Badger ward. Having spent nearly 4 months in hospital on this admission, Spread a Smile has done just that: when the fairy walked in her face just lit up! It’s literally magic…it’s kind of overwhelming

It’s a fabulous gift to bring back a smile that’s been dimmed by a long hospital stay.

Amy has a particular soft spot for Spread a Smile who, without fail, visit children each and every week in various hospitals, bringing along entertainers and therapy dogs to brighten the darkest of days. They do exactly what they say they do. They make very sad and vulnerable children smile when they need it most. They made life better for her. They made her smile.
